Psalm 119:41-48 Freedom

I just love verse 45... I will walk about in freedom for I have sought out your precepts." As we are approaching the 4th of July holiday which celebrates our countries freedom, this verse reminds me that I am free of all the stress of the world because God is in control of everything. How freeing that thought is to anyone who knows Christ. I am thankful for my freedom.

As I think about Freedom, it brings up 2 trains of thought:

1st Thought: I have the freedom to choose. This is both good and bad. The bad - I have the freedom to blog or not to blog on this site. My procrastination & yes I must say laziness has stopped me from starting to blog, even though I had all intentions of doing this from the beginning. Before I know it, weeks have passed and I haven't blogged a single thing. Then guilt starts to set in. Lord, help me with my priorities, to change them to be your priorities. Help me to put you #1 in my life and to direct my days with the things that are going to please you. Help me with my guilt when I don't put you #1. Jesus, bless all who blog to this site. ps - those of you who blogged from the beginning, bless them 100x over (smile!)

2nd Thought: God has given me freedom, yet do I really embrace my freedom or do I continue to live in bondage. In bondage to guilt, in bondage to to-do lists, in bondage to emotions when someone has hurt us or treated us unfairly in some way.

Lord - help us all to embrace the freedom you want for each of us and to understand what that freedom looks like.
